so. around a month and a half ago or something i dont remember. i went to a land called phuket.

oh so very exciting. sun and sun and sun and sand in places here and there.

yes it was another very COOL family vacation.

this was the last vacation i would get before... well... before having to decide what i would do with my life starting september.

i took this time to sit in the sun and swim and eat and drink. did no thinking whatsoever. after all, vacations are for enjoying.

so. we got back. all tan and some burned. and i thought to myself. YES NOW IS THE TIME.

i started thinking. finally.

finished my applications for school. enrolled for classes. paid and done.
finished lease signing. and paid.

i had to start thinking again. what kind of furniture???? very important you know.

anyways.

i suddenly got very excited to be BACK IN BEANTOWN WHERE ALL THE FUN HAPPENS. only when youre with your fam.

its raining as i write this. i'm going out tonight anyway. but to make this gloominess disappear in my head, i'm going to throw some sunshiny pictures from the summer out there.

the weather is officially fuckn GORGEOUS. though there are things spreading from person to person daily worldwide, we still have more BEAUTIFUL things to put our minds to!

the weather. here. is... just... WOW. haven't been in a mood this awesome since April last year. it came a month later this year. but its just all alright. because its HERE! thats all that matters. I hope you all are outside and skipping classes. Sprawled along the grass in the park. Not sure if its beach time yet, since it may be quite windy. But there are no parks here where i can spread out a blanket and just doze off, i have done so on sand. And yes, it is windy. But its good. The season for skin, water, and sun has come once again. Lots of sun. But not too much, you can get skin cancer. So do be careful. Sunscreen is a must. Also, aloe.... ouch.

Fameless Fam recently reunited with Virtue. Who returned from the land of castles and cheese. Reported by a close friend, they had a great time catching up. But of course, they still miss me. HA HA HA. i hope.

this time, i decided to focus on Nino.

Nino is so full of sincerity. he is genuine and holds such a childlike innocence. one cannot but see him and feel tingly. i envy him.

He who plays this role is a talented man. Mathieu Kassovitz. Director, producer, writer, editor, actor....

As an actor, he has performed small yet mind-boggling roles. I cannot forget the Fifth Element. Do you remember? The "give me the cash" man? Oh man, what a performance.

It's funny.

He pursues acting so as a director he can speak from different perspectives. He works harder to become a better director. And hey, he's a pretty great actor in my opinion. Nino is one of his best played roles.

i was in bed, just now, preparing myself for an early bedtime. but guess what decided to run across my mind? that day the therapist at school decided to send me to the hospital. because of what? well.... because of the phrase that starts with "try" and ends with "myself". can you guess?

anyways. when he said i should go to the hospital, i said whatever. he said it was his job to make sure i am safe and not a threat to others but most importantly myself. so WHAT THE SHIT. he CALLED EMS. woah. ok. so the hospital is one block away. i had to be strapped to an ambulance to go to the hospital that was one block away. anyways. i get there. and they put me in a WHEELCHAIR? haha. oh man. ok. fine.

they give me stupid hospital clothes. barely clothes. but really its... cloth. they gave me two so i could tie one on the back and put one on like a gown to tie in the front. how convenient.

so because of that one phrase, i became an insane patient in a second.

i'm trying to sleep now, and this is all that is going on in my head. my brain is replaying every minute of that horrid day. that terrifying day.

being driven to the hospital in an ambulance with earl sitting next to me. even though letting the therapist send me to the hospital was the worst decision of my life, calling earl so that he could come with me was one of the best decisions i've made. though it probably wasn't for him.

earl, you stood right there next to me through this whole shit event. you were right by me. and when you couldn't, you were right outside the room. i don't... know how i could possibly thank you. enough. to make my point clear. thank you.

what pissed me off the most about that day is the stupid fucking dipshit social worker. who, by the way, thought by asking me some dumb procedural question could psychoanalyze me and classify what was happening to me. uh... no. if i ever see that dumb bitch ever again, i will ask her the same questions and see if she fits any of the fucking criteria to be locked up in a room. which is highly likely. why the fuck else would she be doing this as a job if she weren't some sort of crazy. she' just trying to hide what's fucked her up. she had no answers for me. just questions. she has no brain. she has no brain. not one fucking brain cell.

will and danny, i cannot believe you guys stayed for so long. when i heard you guys had come, i think that's when i finally felt like i could ask for nothing more. i had no idea earl had told you boys. that is when i knew, i have friends. and seriously... family. you know i would have camped at the door for you kidz. haha.

you think just because im young i don't know what i'm doing. well, yeah. its true that sometimes i have no idea what the fuck is going on. but you know, i'd be better off not knowing and finding out for myself than being told what to do. because hey, taking orders aint so fun. its not something i've ever been good at. being told what's right and what's wrong for me, no one has the right to tell me that. because i decide for myself. nobody knows me more than i do, right? it should stay that way.

anyways. at the hospital, i met this on call med student. he, sat in that shithole room with me for a while. we talked, he listened--which was what i needed after nobody would listen to me or tell me anything. he was really comforting. i wish i could remember his name. a great fucking big thank you to him. a nice med student at 3 am when i was going insane in a white but ironically dirty room saved me from pulling my hair out.

day is bright, at least i think it should be since its 9am. fernanda brings me things and the stupid doctor checks me out. what did they do? did they help? i put on my "i'm totally ok" face so i could get the fuck out of there. they just wasted a bed and room for a completely nothing me at their hospital. stupid fucks.

day is not bright because it is pouring. all i can think about it taking a shower and getting high. which of course, i did. in that order. then.... that was when the decision was made to come back home. drop school and everything else.

everything happened so fast. i never really had the time to replay it. until now. until, i lay in bed on this non-special day thinking i would get some extra hours of sleep.

i was on my balcony smoking a tasty cigarette, early in the morning with the sun shining right into my eyes. i looked up at the sky and hey, you don't say. a rainbow was painted across the sky. surprised as i was, since i'd never seen a rainbow in the 16 years i'd lived in hong kong... i blinked, looked away from the bright sun then looked right back. and POOF, gone. no more magical rainbow. i know you kidz out there think it was my eye fucking up on me. but you know, i've always believed that only the kindest hearted and pure people see the real rainbows. those that vanish after they've been seen. i'm not saying i'm kind heart or pure. but maybe i have a chance at being kind and pure?

i'm sitting here. and outside the window i see a lot of buildings. almost too many. but this one balcony stands out. why? there's a little tree growing on the balcony. it seems so trapped and yet it looks like.... a lake in the middle of the desert. its barely got any leaves on it. but its still standing.

You know what I've been telling myself? If every minute is difficult to pass, why not make each minute the best ever? You know how people say live like there is no tomorrow. It's just that, but live every minute like there is no next. Then when everything ends, you REALLY have nothing to regret.

I watched "Cashback" last night. Had no idea what it was going to be like, I just found it in a pile of dvds I'd never seen before. Actually decided to watch it because the main character has a nice accent. Insomnia. Stopping time. Insomnia. Sanity within insanity. People find their own ways to find reality in the midst of everything that is not. Not sleeping is like... being awake for one very very very long day. It's like time has stopped. You realize that there are littler things to be aware of. You see the little things that may not matter, but if you think about it, if those things don't matter nothing else will either. But beware of this, you can always stop time but you can never rewind it.

William, please have a safe trip. Beantown will miss you I'm sure. I've been missing you since you saw me off in that cab. You were just a little guy in a big jacket. Good luck, you'll do well. Don't think too much. I'm always with you where ever you are. All my love.

My mac is still set to Boston time. Oh how i miss you. Every morning I wake up to memories from the bean. Tracks that gently make their way into my ears sweetly waking me up whatever time it may be...

Today I woke up to Simple Gift of Man by Electron.

You know what that reminds me of? That time Earl and I decided to do something fun. So you're wondering what exactly did we do, that was fun? Well, let me tell you.

Earl, explained to me that Electron will be amazing live and that he has never seen them live before. So he buys two tickets online, one for him and one for me. We prepare for the show, whatever that may mean. Get in Black Betty and drive to West Mass to pick up two fabulous people. We are all in the car and driving to Connecticut. On our way there we snack on our puffables and drink some sweetness. Before you know it we're at Toad's Place, New Haven. The Yale campus is right next door. When else would I have ever seen Yale?? hah.

The show is starting. The opening band is not too impressive. But as soon as I see Brownie I know the party is ON. Definitely one of THE BEST shows of my life ever. I know i've only lived 19 years but this will always be one of the best. So yeah, after the show I was still out there in space and Earl was driving back to the bean. I don't think I slept that night but hell, it was one fucking amazing trip. Who do i thank? I only thank Mister Jones. if it werent for him, i would never have been exposed to... you know.

i think i drank at least 30 tea bags worth of camomile the past week and a half.

I found a huge file storing booklet device on my bookshelf the other day. Opened it up out of curiosity. Inside I found research notes, pages upon pages of notes. So many I would have to sit for at least a day to read through all of them. All of these notes were notes found and taken for my research paper when I was a junior at HKIS. damn. I was such a hardworking student. neat as fuck. organized and motivated. I read the final research paper. 16 pages. teachers loved it. research paper written on Tim Burton and his life and his work. Oh how I loved him. loved? i don't know about now. do i still? I got a distinction grade on this research paper. this is probably what put me in Emerson. hah. I remember spending so many hours sitting trying to edit and proofread and rewrite this paper.

these days i feel almost scared to indulge myself with creativity, art, imagination and such. what will happen if i do? reactivating my imagination is such an emotional process. then exploring it is even more of an emotional task. and when i lift up the covers and frolic in my imaginative world... it will only bring back memories and make me think until my head explodes and only blood and scraps of brain are left. I have to skip songs constantly because i can't handle the life behind that song. i can't bring myself to draw because i have no music around me. no motivation. no inspiration. what have i done? as an artist i have only splashed dirt onto my name. its time to stop.

i don't know anything anymore.

So that's pretty brief, but basically what Hong Kong is kinda like. You have skyscrapers everywhere, neon lights, laser shows and a huge western influence brought by the British. But you also have the old historical Cantonese traditions alongside those western buildings. It's a pretty cool place. SO FUCKN COME ALREADY.

i miss you fam. please come to asia. maybe my next post will be about other places in asia i have been to... will that convince you?

So, it's been just over a month since i've moved back here to hong kong.

thirty something days of no classes, no schedules, no temptations, and no homies...

now, in a situation like this what do you do? well let me tell you what i've been doing.

this past month, i have not been clubbing and have not been partying like i used to. i've used this time to relax and just lay back and do absolutely nothing. yes, NOTHING. wake up after the sun has risen and about to fall. take a shower when i want to and not need to. eat what's left over from last night/two nights ago or use everything in my fridge to cook up something new. i mean.... how much more nothing could you get?

well i took a break for about a week. and went on a nice family vaca. to korea.

hong kong--->busan--->kyungju--->seoul--->hong kong

so now, what have i really been doing to pass the time?

reading endless issues of HK Mag. Going straight for Dan Savage, Mr. Know-it-All and of course the horoscope section. oh how i love reading my horoscope. who know's what it is, its just a comforting blurb for the mind and soul that generalizes all of you who know what your zodiac sign is. and have you ever read through the whole page? through all the blurbs for the different signs? they all sound the same.

Well no differently, today i started flipping through the HK Mag issue i picked up last night after a night out with some people from high school. I didnt stay. can you guess why? Anyways, so woke up and looked at the cover. unlike other issues, there were no little sneak peeks at the articles inside so i opened it right up.

Page 5 carries a column titled "Last Week in Reality". Now I'm trying to decide which one of these are REALLY worth your time to read about. The first baby born in Hong Kong on January 1st of 2009? Maybe... but hey! this baby was carried from mainland China to Hong Kong so the mother could give birth to the child here. Why? So they could bypass the one-child policy in China. Yay for the first 2009 baby of Hong Kong who isn't even a local.

What really catches my eye is this small box on the corner of a page that is titled in bold letters "WTF?!" I start to wonder what this is about, i read through... Now, Hong Kong is pretty known for organized and well displayed protests. This time, around 100 people were planning a protest in front of a hospital regarding an old man who collapsed at the doors of this hospital. When his son asked the hospital workers to aid his father and treat him, the hospital told this man to call 999, the emergency number. WHAT? alright... well good job hospital you did quite an amazing job and doing your job. instead of giving this old man immediate care they let him die at their doors. shocking right? so this protest was supposed to be on new year's day. well........ our protesters were too hung over from the partying the night before. that only 5 out of the expected 100 showed up.

Five exciting things I found in this issue:

1. Chic Corea and John McLaughlin Five Piece Band in Hong Kong

2. An evening with David Byrne Live- featuring the songs of Talking Heads and David

Byrne/Brian Eno.

3. Mogwai in Hong Kong

4. "My Blueberry Nights" and "The Piano Teacher" now playing in Arthouse.

5. An advertisement put out by the Fringe Club displaying the words "Open for Ideas".

its really just a new three hundred and sixty something days for Fameless Fam to shine. yet again.

Virtue, Papa Bakes, EJ3 Robot, Exquisite Corpse and I, Jaekay, are going to bring you the illest sweetness to your ears and eyes. Be ready, or not. Because even if you aren't, we'll make sure by the time you have been exposed to the greatness that is Fameless, you will be fly.

aww, now isn't that just adorable. yes, we are cool like that. so now everybody else's job is to flash those fingers in such a fashion high up in the air like you don't care. because we are Fameless Fam.

Alright, so 2009 has come to us. Or have we brought it here. Does time pass on its own? Or do we make it pass by us? Are we in control? Or can we never be in control? I don't know. But 2008 has been an amazing 365 days. And I think that I have to give some credit to the year of the rat. So many people, creations, pleasure to the ears and eyes. My aura has been colored with so many different brushes. So let us take this time to look through some digitally collected memories and reminisce the other memories that hide behind these following images.

I mean, it seems a little unorganized... But I'm pretty fuckn sure that these are some of images that tickle my stomach and recall great people and great times.
